Spicy Herb-Grilled Salmon Steaks

Directions

  1. Combine the first 8 ingredients in blender or food processor, and process until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Sprinkle salmon steaks with salt and black pepper. Place fish on well-oiled grill rack and grill for 5 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
  3. Spoon sauce over fish, and garnish with chopped basil and lime wedges.

  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup mint leaves
  • 3 Tbsp. minced seeded jalapeño pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. minced peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. fish sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4 (6 oz.) salmon steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • Oil or cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil
  • 4 lime wedges
