It is a scenic 40-minute flight by a 5 or 10 passenger Float Plane to the West Coast of Prince of Wales Island. You will travel over the famed Inside Passage as well as over scenic Bays, Islands and Rain Forests.

Checked Airline Luggage: Airlines are attempting to standardize their checked luggage services. Currently, Alaska Airlines will allow one (up to 50 lb.) checked luggage and allow on board the aircraft one small hand-carry bag and one small backpack or briefcase / purse size bag. Additional bags will be subject to a per bag fee charge. Possible hint: try to pack your clothes in an acceptable size hand-carry bag thus possibly eliminating any excess bag charges when you check in with your box of fish on your return flight home. Please note that neither Waterfall Resort nor Promech Air charges guests for excess bags.
What to Pack for your Waterfall Adventure: Based upon a 3 or 4 night trip. The first rule is to bring casual clothes and don’t over pack. Here are a few suggestions: medium weight water resistant jacket, hooded sweatshirt, 3 pairs of jeans, t-shirts and shirts, comfortable shoes (no leather soles) like basketball or outdoor style, baseball style hat, fishing style gloves. Medication should be filled and in your hand-carry bag, including medication for motion sickness. Maybe an extra pair of prescription glasses (or sunglasses)? Don’t forget your camera and extra batteries.
Waterfall Identification Luggage Tags / Yellow and Green: Within 3 weeks of your scheduled departure to Waterfall, by mail, you will receive these ID luggage tags. These are important in aiding our Ketchikan Airport and Resort luggage handlers to process your personal luggage and hand-carry items efficiently. Yellow is only for your airline-checked luggage. Green is only for your hand-carry bags.
